Invisalign
What is Invisalign?
Invisalign clear aligners are made of polyurethane plastic and gently realign your teeth over time. Each Invisalign tray is custom-made for the patient and fits snuggly over teeth while remaining nearly indistinguishable from a set of natural teeth. The clear aligner shifts a patient’s teeth slowly into the desired position, following a custom plan for treatment designed by Dr. Grace.
Benefits of Straighter Teeth
- Less prone to periodontal disease: With straight teeth you are able to keep the areas around your teeth clean due to accessibility.
- Improved function: When teeth are straight you are functioning on the teeth as they were designed to be used for.
- Pain relief: Your bite is significantly better relieving possible headaches and jaw joint pain.
How Does Invisalign Work?
Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign is removable by the wearer, although in order for the treatment to be effective it should be removed only to eat or clean your teeth. The most effective treatments occur when patients wear each Invisalign tray for at least 22 hours per day, seven days a week.
Over the course of treatment, patients will wear several different clear aligners, customized to incrementally move teeth into place. Normally, each aligner is worn for two weeks and the entire treatment can last anywhere from 3 to 18 months, depending on how misaligned a patient’s teeth were at the outset.
